Privacy policy

Daily Dash is built so that we never see your data. There is no Daily Dash account, no server of ours that stores your information, no analytics and no advertising.

What the app stores and where

• Your library: notes, links, reminders, tags, news subscriptions, saved places, connections and reading signals are stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). Only you can access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
• Calendars and Apple Reminders are read, and edited when you ask, through Apple's EventKit with your permission. They are not copied to any other service.
• Offline copies of articles and links are kept on each device. News copies are removed after 7 days.
• Locked notes are encrypted with AES-GCM using a random key that is protected by a key derived from your PIN, and kept in your device's keychain behind Face ID or Touch ID. We cannot read or recover them.

On-device intelligence

The daily brief and the summaries of links and stories are written by Apple Intelligence on your device. The model that learns which news you like is trained and stored on your device, and its reading signals sync only through your iCloud. None of this is sent to us or to any third-party AI service.

Location

Location is used only if you create reminders that alert at a place, or choose “current location” for one. The places are handed to iOS, which watches for arrival and departure. Daily Dash doesn't record or upload your location history.

Network requests

To do what you ask, the app connects directly from your device to:

• the websites and feeds you subscribe to or save, to fetch articles, titles, icons and readable copies;
• Google News, when you follow a Google News topic or open a Google News story;
• Apple's services for iCloud sync, notifications and maps.

Those sites see ordinary web requests from your device, as they would from a browser, and their own privacy policies apply.

What we collect

Nothing. The app contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, and this website has no analytics or cookies of its own.

Deleting your data

Delete items in the app, or delete the app and remove its data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. Calendar and Apple Reminders data is managed in those apps.

Children

Daily Dash isn't directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
